A Facility Use Permit is required to use the parks, beaches, or the Powerhouse Community Center involving more than 25 individuals or an event with business related services (ie. catering, lessons, vending, or other) with less than 25 people. The permit is necessary in order to balance the needs of the general public with those individuals seeking to gather for private or commercial use. Tents are prohibited on city beaches, parks, preserves, bluff tops, or open spaces. Sunshades, beach cabanas, or canopies that are no larger than 10 feet by 10 feet in size and that have no more than two walls or 180 degrees of coverage are allowed on the beach or at Seagrove Park or Powerhouse Park. Sunshades or canopies that impair the Lifeguards ability to scan the beach or park may have to be removed.
