Are open fires allowed on the beach?
No, for safety reasons, Del Mar prohibits open fires and fire rings at the beaches, parks, preserves, and bluff-tops. The burning of any type of solid fuels such as wood, flame logs, and charcoal is prohibited. In addition to the prohibited fuels listed above, gel fuels, torches, and flame lanterns are also prohibited. Disposing of burnt material or fuels onto the waterways, beaches, parks, or open space is subject to a $1,000 fine.
