November 2024 Election
Preliminary Election Results
Preliminary election results for the Del Mar City Council and Del Mar ballot measures (Measures A: City Council Compensation and Measure M: Transient Occupancy Tax) are available on the County of San Diego Registrar of Voters (ROV) elections results website. Final election results will be certified by the County ROV by December 5, 2024.
City Council Election
The Del Mar City Council is comprised of five elected City Councilmembers who serve staggered four-year terms. Mayor and Deputy Mayor appointments rotate annually among City Councilmembers. On November 5, 2024, Del Mar residents voted for three City Council seats which will become vacant due to the term expiration of Council seats currently held by Mayor Dave Druker and Councilmembers Dan Quirk and Tracy Martinez. Measures
On June 17, 2024, the City Council voted to place a measure on the November 5, 2024 ballot that, if approved by the voters, would allow the City to collect Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) from guests of Short-Term Vacation Rentals and would modernize the City’s TOT regulations. On June 17, 2024, the City Council voted to place a measure on the November 5, 2024 ballot that, if approved by the voters, would adjust City Council compensation and the procedure for future compensation adjustments.
