Graduation and jobs for 12 student lifeguards

Memorial Day doubled as graduation day for a dozen Del Mar student lifeguards. 

The rookie guards completed 100 hours of training and will continue training for several more weeks as they begin working in the towers and on the beach.

SANDAG Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization project update

In a weekly notice to the City of Del Mar, SANDAG covers planned construction activities, night work and closures associated with the Del Mar Bluffs 5 Stabilization Project. 

The project is scheduled to continue through mid 2027.

SANDAG releases draft Regional Plan

The San Diego Association of Governments has released a draft of its 2025 Regional Plan for public comment through July 18. The plan includes a sustainable communities strategy and air quality conformity analysis.

The goal of the plan is to make transportation more convenient, equitable and safe and includes short- and long-term objectives to improve the transportation system.

Ag officials: Don't pack a pest?

Traveling out of state? Agricultural officials remind travelers not to bring fruit or veggies back to California as the produce can carry fruit flies and other pests that can cause serious damage to agriculture and backyard gardens.

June 14: Craft session for adults at library

A crafting session for adults to decoupage a wooden, leaf-shaped tray is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 14 at the Del Mar library. Space is limited and registration is required. This program is made possible by the friends of the Del Mar Library.
