Why Go Green?

Informed by Del Mar's Climate Action Plan (CAP), Go Green Del Mar provides resources for residents and businesses to soften their environmental footprint. The CAP sets targets for Del Mar to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) — the driving force behind global climate change. Extreme weather events, increased wildfires, droughts and rising sea levels all are tied to rising global temperatures. GHGs are created by burning fossil fuels to generate electricity and power our vehicles. GHGs also come from organic waste in our landfills. Visit these webpages to see how the City of Del Mar is meeting the goals of its CAP and to learn how you can go green.
