SANDAG provides update for bluffs projectSANDAG this week issued scheduling and construction updates related to the Del Mar Bluffs Stabilization 5 project as follows: - During the summer months, work will shift toward grading and drainage improvements, with construction traffic driving on the beach to gain access to work areas;
- So far, the project has taken advantage five, weekend-long closures of the railway;
- During the so-called Absolute Work Windows, crews completed some of the most challenging work on the project, including installing steel pilings into the bluffs;
- More weekend railway closures for construction are scheduled for this fall;
- The project is expected to continue through mid 2027;
- Construction is about halfway done; and
- Significant progress has been made on stabilizing the track level.
