Bluffs project is moving to the beach

Starting this month, crews will begin grading behind existing seawalls and also will demolish the drainage chute at 12th Street.

The work will bring increased construction traffic to the shoreline between Seagrove Park and North Torrey Pines State Beach through fall 2025, according to a SANDAG construction notice issued this week.

SANDAG's Del Mar Bluff's Stabilization Project is scheduled to continue through mid 2027.

Council accepts donations

The City Council on April 7 accepted a donation of $10,000 from the Patrick Michael O'Harra Memorial Fund to finance the purchase of an inflatable rescue boat for the lifeguard department.

The donation honors the memory of O'Harra and his service as a student lifeguard and seasonal lifeguard.

The council also accepted a $2,000 donation from Rotary Club of Del Mar to purchase new rope rescue equipment.

Thanks so much to these and the many other organizations and individuals for their tremendous generosity.
