City Welcomes New Sheriff Captain

The City of Del Mar is pleased to welcome Sheriff’s Captain John Maryon to oversee law enforcement services for the cities of Del Mar, Encinitas, Solana Beach, and the unincorporated county areas such as Rancho Santa Fe.

Captain Maryon previously served as the Sheriff’s Department’s homicide lieutenant. He replaces Captain Theresa Adams-Hydar who will be handling internal operations within the Sheriff’s Department.

Captain Maryon is excited for this opportunity and is confident that he will serve Del Mar residents well. He has previous experience working patrol, narcotics, and various roles in the Encinitas Sheriff station. In the coming weeks, look for Captain Maryon at a future City Council meeting to introduce himself.

The City looks forward to Captain Maryon continuing the progress Captain Adams-Hydar has made to improve law enforcement services for the City.
