Ahead of fall weather, businesses owners are encouraged to apply now for permits to erect temporary outdoor coverings. Contact the City’s Planning Department to secure the appropriate permit.
 
Temporary allowances on outdoor coverings were among the initiatives approved last month by the City Council to assist business that have been restricted by COVID-19.
 
Businesses with existing, temporary permits can request modifications to those permits to include outdoor coverings.

Other assistance measures approved Sept. 8 included increased subsidies for permit fees; temporary allowances for A-frame signs; an extension of hours for sidewalk cafés; funding for downtown cleaning; launching an e-gift card program and hosting Dine on the Deck sessions at the Civic Center.
