You are receiving this notice because you are listed as having a Business License with the City of Del Mar. This week, the City will begin more proactive education and enforcement of State and County Public Health Orders, which require the wearing of face coverings when social distancing is not possible.

The health of residents, visitors, merchants and their employees is a top priority of the City Council. Our purpose is to send a clear message that the City of Del Mar takes public health orders very seriously so everyone can feel safe living, working and recreating in our community.

Our focus will be on education and awareness and to seek voluntary compliance to wear masks in outdoor, public settings where maintaining six feet of social distancing is not possible. For example, during peak periods on our sidewalks, beaches and parks, it can be nearly impossible to walk without coming within six feet of other people. Our goal is to reserve enforcement for egregious situations in which education is not effective.

We wanted you to be aware of this effort so you can share this information with your customers and hotel guests as a courtesy.
