Least tern thriving at lagoon

The endangered least tern is thriving at nesting islands in the San Dieguito Lagoon maintained by the 22nd District Agricultural Association.In an August survey, the San Dieguito River Park reports the most active season to date. The very small seabird established 28 nests. Some of them were home to 17 least tern chicks. 

As of the August survey, up to seven fledglings remained foraging in the area.
