COVID-19 protocols changing June 1

Civic Center by Miller Hull

Starting June 1, the City will begin Phase 2 of Del Mar’s updated Reopening Plan.

Under Phase 2, the City will continue with expanded online services and in-person, general services Monday through Thursday. City Hall will be closed for in-person services on Fridays, effective June 3. On Fridays, all general phone lines will continue to be answered as normal and staff will be available to provide services by phone and email.

In light of recent case rate increases and outbreaks reported in some cities, masking requirements for the public and employees will remain in place.

In-person meetings of the City Council and advisory committees are set to resume Sept. 6, 2022, if public health circumstances allow.

In an effort to better align department practices with the needs of the public, the Reopening Plan also calls for:

  • Continuing walk-in service at the Planning and Building counter from 1 to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays;
  • Permanently shifting in-person service at the Public Works administrative office to appointment-only with remote services available during normal business hours;
  • Restricting public access to the Beach Safety Center to the first floor only; and
  • Requiring that private events at City facilities adhere to public health guidance.
