Powerhouse Park Tot Lot Renovation Project

tot lot at powerhouse park

A new tot lot is coming to Powerhouse Park. After 18 years, the elements and wear and tear from thousands of children have taken their toll on the playground overlooking 15th Street beach.

Plans call for replacing the equipment, rubberized surfacing and swing sets. Initial plans identify two new play structures — one designed for 2- to 5-year-olds and another for bigger kids. The project includes a new drainage system and vegetation pruning to improve views. Hardscape, donor bricks, landscaping and an existing shade structure will remain as they are.

The City is budgeting approximately $275,000 for the project. A State grant of $180,000 and a $100,000 community fundraising campaign organized by the Friends of the Powerhouse will cover most of the costs. Donations can be made to the Friends of the Powerhouse.

To the Friends of the Powerhouse and to all donors, thank you so much!
