Del Mar Civic Center is open for general, walk-in services from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Although City Hall is closed to the public on Fridays, staffing remains at 50% and all general phone lines will continue to be answered as normal.

The Planning and Building Department provides in-person, walk-in services from 1 to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Under the City of Del Mar’s COVID-19 Safe Reopening Plan, all services will continue to be offered remotely during normal business hours.

In light of recent case rate increases and outbreaks reported in some cities, masking requirements for the public and employees will remain in place.

In-person service at the Public Works administrative offices are by appointment only and public access to portions of the Beach Safety Center is restricted.

The Powerhouse Community Center is open for private events with City-issued operational permits. The permits follow guidance from the California Department of Public Health.

Continued Support for Businesses

Business support measures such as relaxed signage regulations, permits to allow for outdoor dining, and the use of on-street parking for dining remain in place through September 2022. The allowances include a one-hour extension of alcohol sales, service, and consumption for any restaurant with an approved sidewalk café permit and a streamlined review process for all COVID-19-related permits.
