Swim Test

All Del Mar Junior Lifeguards are required to pass a swim test. It is the responsibility of parents and guardians to confirm that their child can complete the below requirements.

Swim Test Requirements:

• Hold breath for 20 seconds underwater
• Swim 5 yards underwater
• Tread water for 5 minutes
• 100 yards crawl stroke swim in under:
  • 2 minutes 30 seconds for ages 9 - 11
  • 2 minutes 20 seconds for ages 12 - 13 
  • 2 minutes 10 seconds for ages 14 - 15
