Who can vote in the Del Mar General Municipal Election?

Del Mar residents who are registered to vote can participate in the Del Mar General Municipal Election. Please be aware that if Del Mar is not your primary, permanent residence, you are not eligible to vote in Del Mar. This applies even if you own property in Del Mar but do not primarily reside here. Registering to vote in a jurisdiction which is not your primary, permanent residence may be voter fraud. How can I register to vote?

Before you register to vote, you can confirm your voter registration status on the San Diego County Registrar of Voters (ROV) website by entering your house number, birth date, and zip code. The last day to register and vote in the 2018 November General Election is October 22, 2018.

I forgot to mail in my ballot. Can I still vote on Election Day?

Yes! The County Registrar of Voters must be in receipt of your mail ballot no later than 8PM on Election Day, or your return envelope must be postmarked on or before Election Day and received by the Registrar of Voters no later than the Friday after Election Day.

There are two ways to return your voted ballot:

By Mail: You may return your voted ballot through the U.S. Post Office. Be sure to place the proper postage on the envelope.

Drop Off: On Election Day, you may also return your voted ballot to any polling place or at the Office of the Registrar of Voters from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The Del Mar Library, 1309 Camino del Mar, is the designated vote by mail drop off location in Del Mar.
