The 2019 Kaaboo Del Mar music festival begins its three-day run Sept. 13 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds with up to 40,000 people per day expected to attend. Noise impacts could start during soundchecks Sept. 11, when decibel meters are deployed and tested in surrounding neighborhoods.
While the 22nd District Agricultural Association -- the State agency that runs the fairgrounds -- approves and supervises the event, the City of Del Mar works with organizers and fairgrounds officials to address community concerns.
During event time, extra City staff will be on-hand to provide parking enforcement, traffic control, public works and beach maintenance. Evening patrols of the beach and San Dieguito Lagoon by lifeguards and the Park Ranger are scheduled.
To speak to a Kaaboo representative about noise, lighting or issues related to activities on the fairgrounds, call 858-794-1104. Call this number to talk to a Kaaboo representative or leave a message. If a message is left, it will be returned as soon as possible.
