Who do I call to report that a streetlight is out?
SDG&E maintains our streetlights and will service them at no cost to you. Please contact SDG&E at (858) 654-1219 or email our Public Works Department at grouppublicworks@delmar.ca.us .
Who do I call to report that a traffic signal is out?
Call Public Works at (858) 755-3294. Our traffic signals are maintained under contract with Southwest Signal. If it is after city business hours, contact Southwest Signal directly at (619) 442-3343. Identify yourself as a resident of City of Del Mar with the location of the signal and a description of the problem.
When is my street scheduled for sweeping?
Most residential streets are scheduled for sweeping once a month. Signs are located on many streets and a Street Sweeping Schedule is available. You may also contact Public Works at (858) 755-3294.
Why does the street sweeper leave debris on my street?
Del Mars street sweeper is designed to pick up a majority of debris in the streets. Some pine needles and other small particles are left due to the nature of the equipment.
How can I get a "STOP" sign installed on my corner?
A written request should be submitted to the Public Works Department, 1050 Camino del Mar, Del Mar, CA 92014. Your request will be forwarded to the Traffic and Parking Advisory Committee for their consideration, and they will seek advice from the City of Del Mars Traffic Engineer. Approval by the City Council is also required prior to installation.
Who do I call to get a pothole repaired?
Service requests to the Public Works Department can be made by calling (858) 755-3294 or send an email to grouppublicworks@delmar.ca.us. For emergency calls, call North County Dispatch JPA at (858) 756-1126.
I need sand bags; where do I get them?
Under emergency situations, the Public Works Department will provide up to 10 bags and access to sand for Del Mar residents from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and from 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. weekdays at the Public Works yard located at 2240 Jimmy Durante Boulevard. Sand bags are also available at local building and supply stores like Dixieline or The Home Depot. Residents must fill bags with their own labor.
