How many employees does the City of Del Mar have?
The City of Del Mar employs about 50 full-time employees in the Departments of the City Manager, Finance, Planning & Community Development, City Clerk/Information Systems, Public Works, Community Services, and Fire. Some Departments such as Fire and Community Services employ a number of part-time seasonal employees as well.
Where does the City advertise for vacant positions?
Many vacant positions are advertised in the San Diego Union-Tribune, posted on the City’s website and posted at City Hall. Management positions may be advertised in statewide publications such as Western City and Jobs Available.
How can I receive email notifications regarding Job Announcements?
An important feature of the City’s web site is the ability for the user to sign up for automatic email notifications for certain subjects such as job announcements, agenda notifications for the City Council and Design Review Board meetings, City news, and vacancies on the City’s Boards and Commissions. Are there any employee Unions/labor groups in Del Mar?
Yes, the Del Mar Firefighters Association represents nine full-time employees of the City. The City’s general employees, consisting of clerical, maintenance, code enforcement and other “general” employees of the City are represented by the Del Mar City Employees Association. The City periodically negotiates with representatives of these employee groups over wages, hours and working conditions.
