The following meetings are broadcast live on the web:
Video On Demand - Now presented in Microsoft Silverlight **
City Council meetings are streamed live over the Internet to allow residents, business owners and visitors to watch the Del Mar City Council meetings from anywhere in the world. The meetings will be archived for a minimum of one year on the City’s website and are available by meeting date, indexed by agenda item. As of July 2009, the Design Review Board, Planning Commission, and Ad-Hoc Form Based Code Advisory Committee meetings are streamed live to provide the public transparency into the planning process and elicit citizen participation.
The City of Del Mar partners with 12milesout.com  to provide the live video stream of the City meetings. 12MilesOut.com is a local firm that has been providing web-based video streaming services to local governments since 2002. In San Diego County, the firm provides such services to the cities of Escondido and Coronado and has clients in other counties in California. The Video stream is available as a 43kb stream for dial-up connections and a 340kb stream for high-speed connections. The Live video is presented in Silverlight. To improve compatibility with the variety of internet browsers and operating systems used by the public, the video archive has been recently upgraded to Microsoft Silverlight format. Microsoft Silverlight is a free browser plug-in that works with Mac OS, Windows, and Linux devices and is compatible with a variety of internet browsers including Windows Explorer, Safari, and Firefox.
