Those spring flowers and grasses have been pretty but now they’re drying up and need to go.
The Fire Department has launched its 2020 Spring into Action and Fuel Reduction programs and is asking residents to get an early start on weeding and brush clearing to keep their property -- and neighborhoods -- safe.
Thinning out overgrown and dead foliage greatly improves fire safety for people and structures.
How fire-safe is your property? To schedule a free inspection, contact the Del Mar Fire Department: firstname.lastname@example.org or 858-755-1522.
Later, in cooperation with Waste Management, residents can reserve free delivery and pickup of up to two, three-yard waste bins to fill with green waste. Reserve the bins before July 24 and fill them between July 27 and Aug. 10.
To schedule green waste bin delivery, contact Waste Management: 866-967-3292.
