Del Mar General Municipal Election 2018

The City's General Municipal Election will be held on November 6, 2018, to fill two Council seats (Term: December 2018 - November 2022).

Candidate Filing Period 

The candidate filing period for the November 2018 election has been extended to Wednesday, August 15, 2018 (Per Elections Code Section 10225).  Residents that are registered to vote in the City of Del Mar can pull candidate filing papers from the Administrative Services Department located at 1050 Camino del Mar. Scheduling an appointment is not required, but it is recommended. Please contact Ashley Jones, Administrative Services Director, at (858) 704-3640 or to schedule an appointment.

Resolutions Calling the 2018 Election 

On June 4, 2018, the City Council adopted the resolutions calling the November 6, 2018, General Municipal Election and consolidating the election with the County of San Diego Registrar of Voters (ROV).

     1st pre-election filing

Each candidate listed on the ballot must file FPPC Form 460 or Form 470
October 8, 2018 First Day for Mailing Permanent Vote by Mail Voter Ballots
October 22, 2018 Last Day to Register to Vote
     After this date, individuals wishing to vote may register and provisionally vote at the           Registrar of Voters Office.

October 31, 2018 – November 6, 2018 Vote by Mail – IN PERSON ONLY
     During this period vote by mail ballots are available at the Registrar of Voters
