San Dieguito Lagoon

Welcome to the wonder of the San Dieguito Lagoon. The Lagoon comprises approximately 260 acres of wetlands that contribute to a broad ecosystem stretching far beyond the coast. Birds use the wetlands to rest as a stopover on the Pacific Flyway. The wetlands provide nesting and foraging areas for endangered species, a nursery for ocean fish, and a habitat for a wide array of flora and fauna.  The Lagoon is a significant scenic resource to be enjoyed by everyone.
The Del Mar San Dieguito Lagoon Committee is dedicated to the preservation, protection, and revitalization of this precious habitat.
