On October 27, 2014, the City Council held a Community Workshop to discuss the City Hall/Civic Center project. This was the third in a series of community workshops about your civic center.
The workshop discussed options for City Hall and the potential for other uses of the current City Hall site at 1050 Camino del Mar. This workshop was an opportunity for community members to voice their preferences as to what to build. The attendees considered whether it should be only municipal offices (City Hall) and Council Chambers/Meeting Rooms (Town Hall) or should additional development be considered. The master planning architects developed a number of conceptual options ranging from planning for civic facilities only to a mixed-use development that includes retail, restaurants and residential along with the City and Town Halls. These options, along with their associated costs and economic analyses, were discussed at the workshop.
